On Monday evening, Modi arrived in Gangtok and conducted a roadshow. During this time, his convoy moved from the helipad to Lok Bhavan, and people gathered in large numbers along the route to see him.
Later, on Tuesday, he will visit the orchidarium in Gangtok and explore the ‘Swarna Jayanti Maitri Manjari Park,’ developed to showcase the state’s biodiversity and floral heritage. After that, he will attend the main celebration at Paljor Stadium marking the 50th anniversary.
In addition, he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for development projects worth over ₹4,000 crore.
Previously, he had planned to attend Sikkim’s Golden Jubilee celebrations last year. However, bad weather prevented his visit, so he addressed the event via video conferencing.
