New Delhi Reaffirms Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh as Integral Indian Territories
India rejects CPEC
India vehemently condemned the statements from both China and Pakistan about Jammu and Kashmir.
The joint statement included Ladakh in the diplomatic talks.
But, India found those statements to be unnecessary and unacceptable.
In this connection, the Ministry of External Affairs restated India’s stand firmly.
Thus, Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh continue to be integral parts of India.
Also, it was made clear that no other country has any authority over these territories.
Randhir Jaiswal from MEA condemned those references to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor projects.
Several CPEC projects apparently go through Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
Therefore, such actions are regarded as violations of India’s sovereignty.
Moreover, India rejected the boundary agreement of 1963 between both countries.
It was declared that New Delhi had never recognized the agreement officially or diplomatically.
Further opposition was raised against the concept of cross-border water cooperation of both nations.
As per India, there is no legal border between the two nations in that region.
Thus, it became an issue when India raised doubts about the same.
The dispute was triggered when the prime minister of Pakistan visited China recently.
It was followed by a joint statement between the two countries on the topic.
They discussed Kashmir and emphasized peace-making efforts.
However, India still considers Kashmir its internal affair.
Analysts think that the diplomatic dispute will impact other affairs too.
Experts have also said that India will become more diplomatic.
