Government Acts Against Fake Paper Leak Claims
Telegram Ban India
The government of India has ordered a temporary ban on Telegram till June 22 all over the country. This decision is taken to avoid any examination malpractice or leakage that can cause fraud in the NEET UG 2026 Re-test examination scheduled to be held on June 21.
The NTA had recommended taking such measures for ensuring the safety of the examination process. It was alleged that some organized groups were spreading misinformation through Telegram and deceiving students.
Furthermore, the Indian government has instructed Telegram to limit some of its editing functionalities for a certain time. There were reports of some people misusing these features in order to prove examination paper leaks.
As per NTA, there have been some Telegram groups that have misled many people into believing that they can give them access to the re-exam question paper. However, the organization has made it clear that no authentic paper leakage has taken place. Moreover, such channels have also been handed over to cybercrime authorities for further investigation.
Recently, NTA has established a website to lodge complaints regarding fake paper leaks and impersonations. NTA advised the candidates to depend only on authentic information provided by NTA.
It was also mentioned that the restriction is only temporary and it will be reviewed after the exam is over.
