New Kathajodi Bridge, Data Policy 2.0, and Gas Infrastructure Expansion Get Green Signal

Odisha Data Policy 2.0

The State Cabinet has given the green signal to eight important proposals from different departments. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi chaired the meeting and approved a major infrastructure plan, including the construction of a new bridge over the Kathajodi River.

Firstly, the government has cleared the proposal to build a new bridge that will connect the Judicial Academy with Trisulia. The authorities will implement the project at an estimated cost of ₹158 crore 88 lakh. Moreover, the administration has set a clear target to complete the bridge within three years, ensuring faster connectivity in the region.

In addition, the Cabinet has approved Odisha State Data Policy 2.0 to strengthen digital governance in the state. Similarly, the government has also focused on expanding energy infrastructure by approving the Odisha City Gas Distribution (CGD) Policy. Through this policy, the state aims to accelerate the expansion of PNG and CNG networks, thereby improving access to clean fuel.

Furthermore, the government has decided to establish a modern cotton production unit in Balangir, which is expected to boost local industrial growth and employment opportunities. Meanwhile, the Cabinet has also approved amendments to the Odisha Right to Public Services Rules, 2012, to improve service delivery efficiency.

Overall, the Cabinet decisions reflect a coordinated push toward infrastructure development, digital transformation, and industrial expansion across Odisha.
