Madras High Court rejects anticipatory bail before police arrest

DMK MLA Anita R. Radhakrishnan was arrested by the Tamil Nadu Police on Friday.
Prior to this, Madras High Court rejected the anticipatory bail application by him.
This case relates to the objectionable comments against the Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay.
It is reported that Anita made the comments at a public gathering.
The incident occurred on June 20 in Athur.
The occasion was the birthday celebration of the ex-Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi.
After this, the police booked a case against the MLA.
In addition, Radhakrishnan applied for anticipatory bail in the Madras High Court.
However, the court rejected his application on Friday.
After this, the police arrested him when he was visiting a government office.
It was said that he went there to check the developmental projects.
While arresting him, DMK supporters surrounded the policemen.
They also tried their level best to stop the officers from arresting the MLA.
Furthermore, the party cadres shouted slogans against the TVK government.
Thereafter, the police arrested Radhakrishnan and brought him to Athur Police Station in Tiruchendur.
Lately, the TVK government has sought the approval of Governor R. N. Ravi Arlekar.
The approval was sought regarding the proposed action taken in the Enforcement Directorate money laundering case.
This concerned Anita R. Radhakrishnan and V. Senthil Balaji.
