Rajasthan ATS Detains 30 Suspects Over Pakistan Handler Links

Rajasthan ATS personnel conduct raids while investigating alleged links to a Pakistan-based handler.

Raids span 12 cities after alleged social media terror connections emerge

A massive operation was carried out in Rajasthan by the Anti Terrorism Squad of the Rajasthan Police on Friday.

They detained about 30 people as suspects for questioning.

The operations were carried out in Jaipur, Ajmer, Churu, Dungarpur, Barmer and more than 12 cities.

Police officials claim that the suspects were in social media contact with their Pakistan-based handler Shahzad Bhatti.

It is alleged that Bhatti is connected with Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence.

On the other hand, it came after a breakthrough by the Delhi Police.

Previously, Delhi Police busted an interstate terror and illegal weapons network.

It was revealed that the network functioned under the instructions of Bhatti.

Shubhdeep Singh, 23, Gurjant Singh, 22, Sajan Singh, 28, and Gaganpreet, 24 have been detained by police.

Police claim that the suspects were training for terror attacks in Delhi and its neighboring areas.

Moreover, it was reported by the Rajasthan ATS that Bhatti used social media to target youths.

Electronic devices belonging to the detained were confiscated by police.

Now, investigation will proceed with the help of digital evidence.

It was reported that the device would be returned if any illegal activity wasn’t proven.

Moreover, investigation would confirm the background of the accused.

Bank accounts and criminal records of the accused would also be looked into.

Previously, on June 22, Babita, also known as Khadija, was apprehended by Rajasthan ATS in Jaipur.

Khadija was reported to be an operative of the militant group, Jaish-e-Mohammed.

She was booked under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.

Moreover, investigators reported that Khadija married Jaish commander online.

Police also reported that she tried to escape to Pakistan.
