Strengthening India Nepal relations and its “Neighbourhood First” policy Prime Minister of Nepal, Balendra Shah (Balen), is coming to India by accepting Modi’s invitation.

Meanwhile, Nepal’s Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal announced this key development during the Indian Ocean Conference in Mauritius. Soon after taking office, Prime Minister Shah received the invitation from India and accepted it warmly.

Moreover, both countries expect the visit to deliver concrete outcomes rather than remain a formal interaction. Following discussions between Khanal and India’s External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, both sides have started preparing a clear and focused agenda.

In addition, the visit will aim to revive pending projects in critical sectors such as water resources, security, trade, agriculture, and border management. Therefore, both governments plan to ensure strong political and technical groundwork before the visit takes place.

Furthermore, India’s Foreign Secretary will visit Nepal in advance to help finalize the agenda. Overall, this development will strengthen long-standing goodwill and take India–Nepal relations to a new heigh.

Both countries are now focusing on preparing a separate agenda. In particular, the visit aims to revive pending projects in key sectors such as water resources, security, trade, agriculture, and border management.
