Government announces one lakh jobs, free buses, DA hike, and journalist pension

The government of West Bengal had released its complete budget for the year 2026-27.
Suvendu Adhikari, the chief minister of the government, made the welfare announcements.
Swapan Dasgupta, the finance minister, delivered the budget in the assembly.
The budget was delivered in a handmade Bengali file.
There was emphasis on the cultural identity of Bengal in the budget delivery.
The Finance Minister disclosed the outstanding debt of the state.
At present, the debt in the state stands at ₹8.55 lakh crore.
Still, there will be no change in the welfare schemes in the budget.
The budget includes recruitment of one lakh government jobs.
The post is reserved for 33% women.
The motive behind the step is to empower women through employment.
The government has also assured the public about the corruption-free administration.
Promises were made to provide faster and transparent governance.
Employees of the state and pensioners got huge relief.
The government hiked Dearness Allowance by 20%.
Now the total amount of DA will be 38%.
The new DA is valid from April 1, 2026.
Women will get free bus facility in the whole state.
Government allotted ₹550 crore for this scheme.
Eligible women will get their special Pink Cards.
Retired journalists will get their monthly pension of ₹5,000.
Conductors in state transport corporation will earn more money.
Government has allotted ₹14,000 crore for the Jiramji Scheme.
Annapurna Scheme also gets good financial help from the government.
Government will auction all the mines through the e-auction process of the Centre.
Greater transparency in the mining process was expected.
Kanthi will become a new police district.
Gopiballavpur will get its subdivision status.
New fire stations will come in the state.
