The Uttar Pradesh chief minister, Yogi Adityanath, gives strict orders for Muharram celebrations.
The first strict order given is a ban on the display of weapons in processions.
Secondly, loud DJ music and drum playing are restricted.
Thirdly, no new traditions will be entertained during Muharram celebrations.
There should not be anything more than a tazia height of 10 to 12 feet.
This order is made to ensure safety and proper discipline.
District Magistrates and Special Police Officers should interact with people early.
Order and law must be fully maintained during Muharram celebrations.
Any disturbance will not be tolerated.

Muharram is celebrated during the Islamic New Year according to the Hijri Calendar.
It is celebrated by the Muslim community as the month of mourning.
It is celebrated in memory of Imam Hussain’s martyrdom in Karbala.
Religious processions are organized during this time.
No festivals are organized during Muharram celebrations.
Respect should be shown for all religious beliefs.
