All 14 Indian Crew Members Rescued After Fire Engulfed Vessel Near Oman Coast
Strait of Hormuz attack
An Indian vessel sank in the Strait of Hormuz after a major drone attack.
The Indian-flagged ship “Haji Ali” came under attack near Oman’s coast.
As a result, the vessel caught fire and later sank into the sea.
India’s Ministry of External Affairs strongly condemned the incident.
Furthermore, the government called such attacks completely unacceptable.
The Gujarat-based vessel suddenly faced a suspected drone strike near the Omani coastline.
Consequently, the ship went down at the attack site itself.
The attack reportedly happened around 3:30 a.m. last night.
The vessel was travelling from Somalia’s Berbera Port to Sharjah.
Moreover, the ship carried livestock cargo during the journey.
After the strike, a massive fire spread across the vessel.
However, rescue teams safely evacuated all 14 Indian crew members.
The Ministry of External Affairs described attacks on commercial ships and civilians as unfortunate.
Meanwhile, authorities continue to monitor the situation in the region.
