Dispute after Sahana Mela leads to suspension of all temple rituals; talks underway to resolve the issue
A clash between two servitors has disrupted the rituals at Lingaraj Temple, bringing all religious activities to a halt.
After Sahana Mela, tensions escalated when one servitor reportedly removed the silver covering from the idol around 10 AM. As a result, a heated argument broke out, which soon turned into a physical fight. Consequently, temple authorities immediately suspended all rituals following the incident.
Since then, no rituals have been performed for Lord Lingaraj, creating concern among devotees. Meanwhile, discussions are currently underway between the concerned servitors and temple officials to resolve the dispute.
Until the matter is settled, authorities have kept all temple rituals on hold, ensuring that normalcy returns only after a mutual agreement is reached.
