Tensions are rising in the political alliance in Tamil Nadu due to the 2029 PM candidate.

There is a conflict between Vijay, who leads Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, and Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the Congress. It is claimed that the TVK leaders are pushing for Vijay to be their PM candidate in the opposition alliance.

Additionally, TVK is planning to meet with its alliance members on September 9. It may help to define the political approach of the alliance.

As per reports, TVK ministers Aadhav Arjuna, Rajmohan and R. Nirmal Kumar invited CPI(M), CPI and MDMK leaders to the meeting.

However, it is not known whether the TVK has invited its biggest alliance partner, the Congress.

The point of contention lies in the candidate for PM for the 2029 Lok Sabha polls from the opposition alliance.

Some TVK legislators have come out in public demanding that Vijay be nominated as the prime ministerial candidate for the opposition alliance.

Also, there have been some allegations by some TVK leaders that eventually, Rahul Gandhi will endorse the candidature of Vijay.

But the Congress Party has rejected all such allegations. As per reports, Rahul Gandhi continues to be their prime choice for 2029.

There have been some critical comments from the Congress Party leaders regarding some of the comments made by some TVK legislators. As per reports, the comments were said to be made in a fan mentality.

Such disagreements can certainly put a strain on the relationship between the two parties. The upcoming meeting on 9th September could provide more information.
