In Kerala’s politics, where the Left Democratic Front (LDF) and United Democratic Front (UDF) have long remained the dominant parties, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is now making strong efforts to expand its presence. In this context, the roadshow held yesterday, March 29, in Thrissur by Narendra Modi has stirred the political atmosphere in the state.
During the roadshow, Modi spoke about several key steps planned for the future development of Thrissur. He said that efforts are being continued to strengthen rail and road connectivity in the region. He also mentioned that a new train service between Thrissur and Guruvayur, flagged off two months ago at a program in Thiruvananthapuram, has brought satisfaction among the local people.
He further pointed out that work done in important sectors like energy and fisheries has had a positive impact on people’s lives. He assured us that these development activities would be taken forward at a faster pace in the coming days.

The roadshow saw a strong turnout, with people showing great enthusiasm to catch a glimpse of Modi. This is the big sign of growing support for the BJP in Kerala. He also recalled the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, when Thrissur elected a BJP MP for the first time, marking a historic moment. Besides this, Modi said that his government is dedicated to ensuring good governance for the people of Thrissur if they come to power.
He urged the people to support BJP-NDA, saying that every vote for the alliance would be a vote for the region’s development.
The roadshow is not just being seen as a political event but also as a clear signal of the BJP’s preparations for the 2026 Kerala Assembly elections.
