Heated exchange in Parliament as Congress targets government policies; BJP hits back calling remarks “unfortunate”

Political Debate

During a significant discussion in the Indian Parliament on Friday, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi referred to Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a “magician,” sparking widespread political debate.

While targeting the government on various issues, Rahul Gandhi alleged that the Prime Minister is misleading the public in a manner similar to magic tricks, diverting attention from real problems by creating new “events.” He specifically raised concerns about unemployment, rising inflation, and alleged favoritism toward certain industrialists, claiming that the Prime Minister uses a “magician-like” approach to channel public money into the pockets of a few.

The primary objective behind Rahul Gandhi’s remark was to question the government’s economic policies and governance. He argued that while poverty and unemployment are increasing in the country, the Prime Minister’s speeches and narratives are keeping people in a dream-like state.

However, the ruling party strongly responded to these remarks. Leaders from the BJP termed Rahul Gandhi’s statement as highly unfortunate and defended the Prime Minister as a global leader and a key driver of the country’s development. The verbal clash between both sides, both inside and outside Parliament, has intensified the political atmosphere.
