The Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) is now out of the Secular Progressive Alliance led by the DMK.
This has come about following a decision taken by the General Council of the party held in Chennai.
Fourteen resolutions regarding important political issues were taken in the council meeting.
One of the resolutions related to the IUML pulling out of the alliance.

This decision has been officially conveyed by the president of IUML, K.M. Kader Mohideen.
He informed that this decision to pull out of the alliance had been accepted.
According to the party, they will support the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) headed by Vijay.

The decision is quite significant politically speaking.
