TMC alleges Mamata Banerjee was prevented from visiting victim’s family
TMC allegations
The alleged rape and murder of a 12-year-old girl has further exacerbated the political situation in West Bengal.
Ahead of her visit, the security arrangements for Mamata Banerjee’s residence have been greatly enhanced.
Besides, security guards have been arranged outside her residence.
The Trinamool Congress (TMC) party termed it a political conspiracy.
Apart from this, the party raised many concerns over the central government and the administration.
The TMC party pointed out that the authorities wanted to stop Mamata Banerjee from meeting the family members of the victim.
At the same time, the authorities established a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe into the incident.
Sayani Ghosh, MP of TMC, posted about the development on social media.
She asserted that the SIT would conduct an impartial investigation.
Moreover, she informed that she had spoken about the issue with the Chief Minister.
The TMC leaders have criticized the arrangement of central security guards outside Mamata Banerjee’s residence.
Dola Sen, MP of TMC, wondered if authorities were trying to place Mamata Banerjee under “house arrest.”
She referred to the matter as “a super emergency.”
In an interview with the press, Dola Sen revealed that Mamata Banerjee was planning to meet the family of the victim.
But she complained that they were preventing her from moving out of her house.
Dola Sen also asked how much can stop Mamata Banerjee from coming out.
Apart from this, Dola Sen attacked the deployment of several police men.
According to her, the administration did not act properly.
Moreover, TMC MP Madan Mitra attacked the security arrangements.
He informed the media that Mamata Banerjee is meeting her party workers at her own home.
He further mentioned that public voices cannot be stopped.
He also mentioned that the victim of Baruipur case deserves justice just like the case of RG Kar Hospital.
Mitra further alleged that the government cannot ignore public sentiments.
On the other hand, TMC National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee criticized the BJP in connection with the case.
Abhishek Banerjee accused the BJP of failing to protect women’s safety.
On social media platform, Abhishek Banerjee mentioned that political protection leads to criminal activities.
Moreover, Abhishek Banerjee alleged that political protection affects the process of justice.
Derek O’Brien, who is senior leader of TMC and member of Rajya Sabha, also commented on the security arrangement.
As per his social media post, there was deliberate blocking of narrow lanes using more than ten police vehicles outside the residence of Mamata Banerjee.
O’Brien also stated that this security arrangement was planned in such a way that Mamata Banerjee would be stopped from meeting the family of victim.
This claim has been put forward by TMC leaders. However, there has been no confirmation of the allegations from the authority.
