Facilities not available in the Anganwadi Centre, Kandhamal villagers express concerns

Severe problems have emerged concerning the lack of facilities in the Anganwadi Centre in Pindangi village, Pahiraju Panchayat in Phiringia Block, Kandhamal District. The centre is devoid of some important facilities such as water and a boundary wall which has become a matter of serious concern for the local people.

Although the government has the facility of providing water and other infrastructures in the Anganwadi Centres of Odisha, it seems that no such step has been taken by the administration regarding this matter. Owing to the unavailability of water tank and a boundary wall, the kids are now facing many difficulties.
According to the locals, the health and hygiene of small kids are being harmed due to the lack of drinking water. Since the construction of the Anganwadi centre, there is no facility of tube well or boundary wall, as a result of which it becomes difficult for the centre’s staff to get water for any purpose.
The villagers have expressed their demand for the urgent installation of a water facility and a boundary wall in the Anganwadi Centre.
