Another masterstroke in the education system: No exams till class five – Balen

Hearing this, you will surely feel surprised. But this is true. Such a decision has been taken by the new government of Nepal. In Nepal, schools will no longer carry English names; instructions have been given to change them. There has been an insistence on keeping names that carry a local identity. With a 100-day revolutionary action plan, the Balen government has decided to move forward. The action plan of Nepal was issued on Saturday. From now on, no student organizations associated with political parties will have any presence in schools to universities in Nepal. The Balen cabinet has made it clear that educational institutions are no longer arenas of politics, but centers of knowledge.

According to the decision of the Shah government, political interference will be ended in educational institutions and the voice of students will be given space. Now let us know what is in the action plan:

Complete ban on student politics:
The political cover that has been overshadowing most educational institutions in Nepal will be immediately removed, and institutions will be made free learning spaces.

Rise of student councils:
Instead of party-based politics, within the next 90 days, non-political systems like “Student Council” or “Voice of Students” will be developed to hear the real problems of students.

End of citizenship condition:
Nepali citizenship will no longer be mandatory to study up to graduation. As a result, anyone will be able to study without obstacles. Also, results will be published on time in all institutions.

Ban on foreign names:
Names like Oxford, Pentagon, or St. Joseph’s running in the country will no longer remain. These will be replaced with original Nepali names.

Exam-free childhood:
There will be no exam pressure on small children. The traditional examination system will be abolished up to class five. Instead, children’s development will be assessed through alternative evaluation methods.

Not only this, the Shah government has also ordered an investigation into the assets of leaders and officials of the last three decades. A 100-point agenda has been issued, which clearly states that the assets of leaders and officials who have held government positions from 1990 to 2026 will be investigated. For this, a strong committee will be formed within the next 15 days. Hearing this, there is already panic among leaders and officials.
