Indian Parliament debate on Women’s Reservation Bill with political leaders reacting

BJP blames opposition while congress targets Modi Government over bill’s defeat

Political controversy

Politics has intensified after the Lok Sabha rejected the Women’s Reservation Bill. The BJP leaders have all blamed the opposition for the bill’s failure, and the party has said it will take the issue directly to the people. In response, Congress has accused the Modi government of making things worse.

Parliament’s failure to pass the Women’s Reservation Amendment Bill has caused strong reactions, with many seeing it as a setback for women’s representation. As a result, political tensions have risen over who is to blame. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with other BJP leaders, has actively criticized the opposition and held them accountable. Following strong statements from senior leaders on Sunday, the BJP has decided to intensify its campaign at the grassroots level. The party will organize protests across districts, blocks, panchayats, and villages until the 30th. Through these efforts, BJP leaders aim to inform citizens about how Congress and its allies opposed the bill.

On the other hand, Congress has firmly rejected these allegations and instead blamed the BJP. Furthermore, the party considers this development a significant political moment against the NDA. As a result, Congress has planned its own outreach programs to connect with rural voters. It intends to explain how the government allegedly misled the public. In addition, Congress has accused the ruling party of deliberately linking the Women’s Reservation Bill with the Delimitation Bill as part of a strategic move. To strengthen its stance, Congress will hold press conferences in every district.

Earlier, the Modi government had called a special session of Parliament to pass the bill. It introduced the bill in the Lok Sabha on the 16th and conducted voting on the 17th. However, the House ultimately rejected the bill, which has now fueled a sharp political confrontation between the two sides.
