The state of West Bengal has seen a change in politics with a new government led by Suvendu taking over. The Prime Minister was at the ceremony where the new government members took their oaths.

The BJP got a lot of votes in West Bengal with 45.84 percent of people voting for them. The Trinamool Congress got 40.80 percent, which’s pretty close. The Communist Party of India got 4.45 percent. The Congress got 2.97 percent. Other smaller groups got one percent.

When we add up all the votes from the groups that’re not the BJP we get 48.66 percent. This is more than what the BJP got on its own.

The BJP won because they were able to get people to support them in a state where they usually do not do well. They used a mix of things to get people to vote for them like talking about their beliefs and the good things they would do for people. They also have an organization, which helped them.

The groups that are not the BJP did not work together which hurt them. The Congress, the Left parties and other smaller groups all ran campaigns, which split up the votes. So even though they got votes combined they still lost.

Some leaders, like Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav said they support Mamata Banerjee and are worried about how the votes were split. The INDIA alliance is still having trouble working together in states.

So what we learned from the election in West Bengal is that the BJP is getting stronger and the groups that are not the BJP are still not working together. This could affect elections in big states like Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat and Punjab. The Bengal election shows us that the BJP is expanding, at winning in places where they usually do not do well and the groups that are not the BJP need to figure out how to work if they want to win.
