Rescue Hopes Rise Amid Devastating Floods in Nepal

Hope has come for the workers who are stuck inside a hydropower tunnel in Rasuwa District of Nepal.
On August 26, there was a massive flash flood in the Bhotekoshi River region. This flash flood had hit the Trishuli-3A Hydropower Project and several others.
The rescue team found voices inside the Trishuli-3A Hydropower Project tunnel. Around 40 workers are still missing from the project.
Around 900 workers are missing in other six hydropower projects of Nepal. Rescuers are working hard to get those people who are trapped in the tunnel.
Rastriya Swatantra Party MP and Engineer Shriram Neupane revealed this information through his social media account on Friday. He further mentioned that the rescue team has heard several voices inside the tunnel.
As per the reports, the rescue team instructed the trapped workers not to panic. They told the workers that rescue efforts were going on to save them.
After this incident, some voices were heard from inside the tunnel. With this incident, the rescuers have worked more to rescue the people.
Heavy machinery was used by the authorities to clear away the mud and debris obstructing the tunnel.
The Nepal Army rescue team retrieved two bodies from the Rasuwa Langtang Open Hydropower Project tunnel. The rescuers were able to enter 150 metres into the tunnel during the mission.
There has been no communication established yet with 41 workers who are still stuck at the hydropower project, which is estimated to generate 20 megawatts of power.
They have been left in suspense as the rescue missions are still underway.
By Friday, the casualties of the disaster had gone up to 1,259 deaths in Nepal. As per the reports, there were 5,053 missing persons.
In spite of bad weather and destruction to the infrastructure, the Nepal Army has been carrying out their rescue missions.
