Prime Minister Narendra Modi has turned his appeal into action. He reduced the number of vehicles in his official convoy and sent a strong message on fuel conservation. His decision came amid the ongoing West Asia crisis and instability in global oil prices.

Earlier, Mahatma Gandhi had stopped consuming salt after doctors advised Kasturba Gandhi against it. Similarly, PM Modi adopted his own advice and encouraged the nation to save fuel and strengthen the economy.

During a public address in Hyderabad, the Prime Minister urged citizens to reduce petrol and diesel consumption. Moreover, he advised people to avoid unnecessary foreign travel and support work-from-home practices whenever possible.

Soon after the appeal, PM Modi implemented the idea during his visits to Vadodara in Gujarat and Guwahati in Assam. Authorities significantly reduced the number of vehicles in his official convoy. However, officials confirmed that there was no compromise in SPG security protocols.

Meanwhile, the impact of the Prime Minister’s message spread across the country. During the swearing-in ceremony in Assam, officials shared his action plan with several Chief Ministers. The plan emphasized the use of electric vehicles and online meetings.

Furthermore, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced major measures. He advised ministers, MPs, MLAs, and public representatives to use public transport at least once a week. In addition, the state government directed officials to reduce convoy vehicles of ministers and the Chief Minister by 50 percent.
