India remembers 19 soldiers killed in the 2016 terror attack

September 18, 2026 is the tenth anniversary of the Uri attack.
There were four terrorists who had attacked an Army post in Uri.
The attack was initiated somewhere at 5:30 am on September 18, 2016.
The terrorists had used automatic weapons and incendiary rounds.
The attack caused the tents and temporary barracks of the Army to catch fire.
In the beginning, there were 17 deaths in the attack.
Two more deaths happened later due to injuries received in the attack.
Therefore, the total number of deaths became 19 soldiers.
All the four terrorists were killed by Indian security forces.
The weapons and other material of the terrorists were collected by the Army.
A review was conducted by the Defence Ministry for security arrangements at military establishments.
Some measures for preventing such attacks were also determined.
Uri attack became a crucial issue for the country’s national security.
After eleven days, India carried out surgical attacks on the LoC.
According to the government, attacks were made on the terrorist launch pads.
This happened on September 28-29, 2016.
Ten years later, the attack has still remained a part of India’s security.
Families of the 19 soldiers still remember their sacrifices.
Compensation was also provided by the government to the families.
September 18 is hence a crucial day in India’s defense history.
