An edited family photograph of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation has caused a stir in Pakistan.
The 26th Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation was held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
The edited family photograph of the summit was issued by the Prime Minister’s Office of Pakistan.
The edited family photograph had excluded several important political leaders.
The original family photograph included Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi with several other leaders of the SCO.
The photograph also included Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The photograph also included Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian among others.
But, the edited photograph excluded the photographs of Narendra Modi and Masoud Pezeshkian.
Moreover, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was placed prominently in the edited photograph.
The photograph caused a lot of heated debate on social media forums.
With the debate becoming intense, the original family photograph was issued by the Prime Minister’s Office of Pakistan.
The original photograph included all the leaders who were part of the group photograph.
Modi Sends Out A Resounding Message Regarding Terrorism.
First, India made its stance clear regarding terrorism in the SCO forum.
Prime Minister Modi appealed for concerted efforts by all SCO member nations against terrorism.
He emphasized that it was important to stop funding, recruiting and supporting terrorism.
He further called upon member countries to collaborate to fight terrorism.
Additionally, Prime Minister Modi called upon all countries not to have double standards regarding terrorism.
India Defines Its Stance on the BRI
On the other hand, India also defined its stance concerning China’s Belt and Road Initiative.
PM Modi said that any project involving connectivity must respect sovereignty and territorial integrity of nations.
He cited this principle in terms of core values of the SCO Charter.
India had earlier opposed the implementation of BRI projects in Pakistani occupied Kashmir.
The issue of the family photograph is a significant one from the SCO Summit.
