Crime Branch blocks fake websites and warns against cyber fraud

Cyber Sathi was the campaign launched by the Odisha CID-Crime Branch for Rath Yatra.
This campaign is intended for protecting the devotees as well as tourists against any kind of cyber fraud.
Besides, Crime Branch collaborated with Puri Police for launching this campaign.
The campaign was initiated by officials in order to check the increase in online frauds.
Up till now, the authorities had blocked nine web pages of fake hotels.
In addition to that, the authorities blocked 16 URLs of fake websites.
The URLs had fake information about the Rath Yatra.
In addition to that, they were targeting the devotees by offering to donate prasad through a fake scheme.
On the other hand, the cybercriminals used the fake website of hotel booking for deceiving the tourists.
In this connection, the Crime Branch conducted a special inspection of seven major hotels of Puri.
