Jayant Patil-BJP Meeting Sparks Political Buzz in Maharashtra
NCP SP NDA
Speculations have risen regarding the potential joining of SP’s NCP into the NDA.
This came after the meeting between Jayant Patil and BJP National General Secretary Vinod Tawde.
The latter was the topic of extensive political talks in Maharashtra.
But Patil has ruled out all such speculations.
According to him, it was a non-political meeting.
As quoted by The Times of India, Jayant Patil said that he had met people from a Joint Parliamentary Committee who were at a hotel in Mumbai.
Yes, he had met Vinod Tawde while being there but stressed that no politics was discussed at all.
On the other hand, Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis has also clarified regarding the rumors.
He said that BJP does not want to break Sharad Pawar’s party.
Moreover, he denied any effort to lure NCP (SP) MPs or MLAs.
It also became clear that no new Maharashtra-based party would join the NDA.
This news broke out after six Shiv Sena (UBT) MPs were rumored to join Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena.
Prior to this, NCP (SP) MP Amol Kolhe had stated that he would consider the Mahayuti alliance’s proposal.
But then Amol Kolhe retracted his statement.
Amol Mitkari, former NCP MLC, said that joining the NDA will help stop a split within the NCP (SP).
But Supriya Sule, NCP (SP) Working President, completely dismissed the rumors.
Sule stated that the party has not joined the NDA.
Also, Sule said that she was unaware of the meeting between Jayant Patil and Vinod Tawde.
