As the second phase of voting continues in West Bengal, Narendra Modi emphasized that women and youth play a crucial role in strengthening democracy. He stated that a strong democratic system can be built only when they participate in record numbers.

Furthermore, in a post on X, PM Modi urged the people of West Bengal to come out and vote in large numbers. Meanwhile, authorities have initiated voting across 142 Assembly constituencies in seven districts. To ensure a smooth process, officials have issued clear guidelines, and polling began at 7 AM and will continue until 6 PM.

At the same time, most of these constituencies remain under the control of the TMC led by Mamata Banerjee. These seats stretch from South Bengal to Kolkata, making this phase politically significant.

In addition, several high-profile constituencies, including Bhabanipur, are witnessing intense contests. Notably, Mamata Banerjee is facing a tough challenge from Suvendu Adhikari in this key seat.

Moreover, around 32.17 million voters are eligible to cast their votes in this phase, including a significant number of women and young voters. This highlights the growing importance of inclusive participation in elections.

On the other hand, the first phase recorded an impressive 93.19% voter turnout, which has further raised expectations for the final phase. While the TMC aims for a fourth consecutive victory, the BJP has intensified efforts to capture power in the state.

Meanwhile, authorities have deployed strict security arrangements to ensure peaceful polling. NIA officials have already reached Kolkata. Additionally, IPS officer Ajay Pal Sharma has taken charge as police observer for South 24 Parganas.

However, when Sharma visited Falta to review arrangements, TMC supporters strongly protested against his presence, adding another layer of tension to the election environment.
