22 oil and gas tankers coming to India are stuck in Hormuz

It has been reported that 22 oil and gas tankers carrying oil supplies to India are stuck in the Strait of Hormuz, which is located in the Persian Gulf. Among these ships, it has been known that 10 ships are carrying foreign flags. However, according to information from the Government of India, among these ships, 18 ships are carrying Indian flags, and 6 ships have already reached India. Among these ships, 12 Indian ships are still stuck. Among these ships, there are ships carrying liquefied petroleum gas, oil, and liquefied natural gas.

Due to the conflict in the Middle East, the major shipping route and the Strait of Hormuz have been severely disrupted, and the ships have been anchored on the western side of the Strait of Hormuz. In a press conference, Rajesh Kumar Sinha, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways, informed that out of the ten ships, three are LPG ships, four are crude oil ships, and three are LNG ships. The ships carrying 94,000 tonnes of LPG will reach the nation by April 1. The ships are a part of the total 500 ships stuck in the Strait of Hormuz. The government is working on a plan to relocate Indian ships from the Strait of Hormuz.

Sinha stated that eight ships have been safely moved. Among these, two ships, namely BW TYR and BW ELM, carry 94,000 tonnes of LPG. It has been stated that BW TYR will reach the country on the 31st of March. Similarly, BW ELM will reach the country on the 1st of April. After the US-Iran conflict, Indian ships carrying LPG have been safely cleared from the Strait of Hormuz.

It should be noted that a total of 28 ships were stuck in the Strait of Hormuz. Among these, 24 ships were stuck in the western part of the Strait of Hormuz, while 4 ships were stuck in the eastern part. In the last few days, 6 ships have returned to the country under the supervision of the Indian Navy.
