Governor Arlekar Stops Vijay During Emotional Oath Ceremony Speech
Vijay oath ceremony
The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu was taken up by the Tamil film actor and TVK president Chandrasekhar Joseph Vijay. However, the ceremony was quite unique and highly emotional since its inception.
Very soon Vijay made his way onto the stage to swear-in, & his supporters cheered for him without a break. This charged up Vijay so much that he addressed the audience even while swearing in himself.
In order to avoid any constitutional breach, Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar instantly intervened and halted Vijay in his tracks.
After the interruption, Vijay quickly regained composure. Before moving to the podium, he respectfully greeted the Governor and introduced all his nominated ministers.
Meanwhile, the atmosphere changed completely when the official oath ceremony began. The Governor read 1st line of oath in Tamil & called Vijay’s name, he avoided reading directly from prepared document. Instead, he spoke emotionally to the people in his trademark style.
The excitement clearly reflected on Vijay’s face, while his eyes revealed dreams for Tamil Nadu’s future. During his speaking, the entire stadium erupted with applause, cheers, and slogans from supporters.
As per the constitutional rules, the swearing-in ceremony is a procedural affair. But Vijay became emotional, said in Tamil that ”the victory was of the people of Tamil Nadu not mine”. Also, his speech became even more energetic as supporters kept raising slogans.
Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar interrupted Vijay again gently, realizing the seriousness of the situation. He politely reminded new CM that he first needed to complete the oath of office & secrecy before delivering public speech.
Following the Governor’s intervention, Vijay calmed himself and completed the oath-taking ceremony with dignity and seriousness.
Meanwhile, several prominent personalities from across the country arrived in Chennai to attend the historic political event. Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi attended the ceremony as one of the chief guests. In addition, renowned actress Trisha Krishnan, from the film industry, also remained present among the audience.
At the same time, PM Narendra Modi congratulated Vijay through a post on X after he took oath as CM. Moreover, the PM wished him success & assured that the Central Government would continue working closely with the Tamil Nadu .
