The Strait of Hormuz has now turned into a battlefield; ships are getting trapped in Iran’s web

The situation is becoming more complicated after the West Asia war. Gradually, it is becoming clear that the situation is getting out of control. In such a situation, though an energy crisis has emerged, the emerging countries like India are now trying to find alternative sources of energy supply. After the Iran war, the Strait of Hormuz has now turned into a battlefield. Tehran has closed this narrow sea route. Iran and the USA are giving different statements on the Strait of Hormuz; in the meantime, it has come to light that the number of ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz has decreased considerably. According to the captains of the ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz, once the ship enters the route, the GPS of the ship totally stops working; messages are also sent saying that this area is totally closed for ships, creating difficulties for the ship. Iran has also placed sea mines in this sea route; it is like passing through a death trap.

The Strait of Hormuz is a critical waterway in West Asia; however, currently, Indian ships passing through this waterway are facing different kinds of issues. The interference in GPS signals, the risk of sea mines, and the lack of clear maps have made the situation extremely complex and critical for the ships passing through this waterway. All the ships passing through this waterway are receiving constant radio messages regarding the prohibition of passing through this waterway and the prohibition of allowing any ship to pass through this waterway until further notice.

It is pertinent to mention here that when GPS signals get interfered with, not only is the location of the ship affected but there is also a threat of getting stranded at the destination. Most of the ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz are gas, oil, and chemical tankers, which are highly flammable in nature; therefore, any kind of mistake can never be ruled out regarding a major accident. For this reason, war updates are being sent to the ships at every moment.
