The politics of Tamil Nadu has become more volatile following the declaration made by the erstwhile Chief Minister M.K. Stalin.
Stalin alleged that the TVK government led by the current Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay might fall soon.
This was said by him in a public function on Sunday, June 28.
While it is true that TVK did very well in the Assembly polls, yet the party did not get an outright majority.
However, later Vijay formed the government with the help of Congress and other political parties.
Recently there have been some controversies in the state regarding the Assembly sessions and arguments between TVK and DMK politicians.
As a result, the declaration made by Stalin has added fire to the already heated political discourse of the state.
Stalin opined that the TVK government does not have a stable majority.
He estimated that the government might fall within a span of three to six months.
Thus, there would be new Assembly polls in Tamil Nadu.
As per Stalin, the requirement of majority for the 234-member Assembly is 118 members.
But TVK could win only 106 members.
It later formed the government with the help of Congress and other parties.
He argued that the government continues to exist due to the support of parties loyal to the DMK.
Also, Stalin contended that the current government will not last long.
He advised DMK cadres to be ready for any other elections at any point of time.
Further, Stalin criticized the law and order situation in the state.
He accused that there is an increase in cases of crime against women and children.
Also, Stalin alleged that there is a power crisis in the state of Tamil Nadu.
He even accused that some industries are planning to invest in other states.
