Putin and Modi Likely to Hold Key Bilateral Talks

Russian President Vladimir Putin has landed in New Delhi.
Putin will participate in the 18th BRICS Summit.
This summit is set to be attended by 11 global leaders.
India has organized this year’s BRICS Summit.
Putin received a warm welcome at Palam Airport.
He was welcomed by Minister of State Kirti Vardhan Singh.
However, security has been stepped up in Delhi due to the visit of the global leaders.
Putin is also likely to have a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
There can be some bilateral discussions between the two leaders on matters relating to defence and trade cooperation.
It is Putin’s second visit to India within nine months.
His last visit was on December 5, 2025.
Moreover, many prominent leaders will attend the summit.
The countries that will take part in the summit include Brazil, China, and Russia.
South Africa, Egypt, and Ethiopia will be present at the summit.
The participating countries include Indonesia, Iran, and Saudi Arabia.
The summit will be attended by the UAE as well.
The summit will discuss major issues at the international level.
Putin’s visit to India will also enhance bilateral relations.
