A joint appeal by Indian and Pakistani dignitaries calling for the restoration of diplomatic dialogue.

As many as 117 prominent personalities from India and Pakistan have jointly come out with an appeal.

Their petition was addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

They sought the restoration of bilateral dialogue by the governments concerned.

It comes after the period since Operation Sindoor.

Moreover, the petitioners sought the restoration of High Commissioners.

They also sought the revival of visa facilities.

In addition, they sought the reopening of air space between the two countries.

The Center for Peace and Progress (CPP) has sent the joint petition.

The petition is signed by 61 personalities from India and 56 from Pakistan.

Some of the Indian personalities include Farooq Abdullah, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Mehbooba Mufti, Manoj Jha, and Humayun Kabir.

Similarly, some of the Pakistani personalities include Khurshid Mahmud Kasuri, Ashraf Jehangir Qazi, Isphanyar Bhandara, and Pervez Hoodbhoy.
