Bangladesh has expressed its willingness to maintain friendly relations with India despite rising concerns over recent border incidents. Bangladesh Prime Minister Tarique Rahman sent a significant message to New Delhi after two Bangladeshi nationals died near the India-Bangladesh border in Tripura.

According to reports, the Border Security Force shot two suspected smugglers during an operation in Sepahijala district on Friday night. Subsequently, officials from both countries coordinated at the Kamalasagar border post and handed over the bodies to the victims’ families.

Meanwhile, political adviser Ruhul Kabir Rizvi emphasized the importance of peaceful bilateral ties. He stated that Bangladesh wants to build and preserve a friendly relationship with India. However, he also warned that repeated violence along the border could weaken trust between the two neighbouring nations.

Furthermore, the statement highlights Dhaka’s growing concern over security issues at the border. In the meantime Bangladesh continues to believe that diplomacy and cooperation offer the best way forward. Hence both countries can now concentrate on dialogue, border management and improved coordination to avoid future conflicts.

India and Bangladesh are expected to continue discussions to improve security and deepen mutual trust as regional stability is important for South Asia.
