Smartphones for Anganwadi Workers & Reservation Seat Boost
The cabinet led by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi approves POSHAN smartphone distribution, education reservation, extra rice under Annapurna Yojana, and ₹352 crore for Vadamba Sugar Mill revival
Odisha Cabinet Clears 16 Proposals & is led by C M Mohan Charan Majhi. This cabinet is approving POSHAN smartphone distribution, education reservation, extra rice under Annapurna Yojana & allocating ₹352cr for Vadamba Sugar Mill revival. The cabinet meeting approves a total of 16 proposals from 13 departments. CM Shri Mohan Charan Majhi chairs the meeting. The cabinet approves a proposal to procure 79,033 smartphones for distribution under POSHAN Abhiyaan. The government will provide the smartphones to Anganwadi workers, supervisors, and block coordinators (Poshan). This initiative will help in distributing nutrition powder, “Chhatua”; monitoring the growth of children. And enhancing preschool education and improving Anganwadi infrastructure.
Similarly, the Odisha Cabinet Clears 16 Proposals; in which the government will grant ST students of the state a 22.50 percent reservation, SC students 16.25 percent, and SEBC students 11.25 percent for admission to medical, engineering, other higher education, and technical education courses in Odisha.
Furthermore, under the Mukhyamantri Annapurna Yojana, the government will distribute additional rice to beneficiaries under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) & the State Food Security Scheme (SFSS).
On the other hand, the government allocates Rs. 352 crore for the revival of Vadamba Sugar Mill.
