Rahul Gandhi Condemns Violence, TMC Targets BJP

There have been political tensions in the state of West Bengal following an alleged attack on TMC member of parliament Abhishek Banerjee.

This happened when Banerjee was visiting affected citizens following electoral violence. As per TMC sources, a crowd had attacked Banerjee when he was on this visit.

Following this event, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi commented on this issue. He called this event a violation of democratic values.

Its added that such violence towards an elected leader is a violation of democratic values. He further called for action to be taken to stop such violence.

Apart from this, Rahul Gandhi has asked for a response from both the Central and West Bengal governments. He expressed his hope for a speedy recovery of Banerjee.

Abhishek Banerjee thanked Rahul Gandhi for his efforts. He said that he is committed to upholding democratic principles.

According to Banerjee, the BJP government was engaged in divisive politics. The criticizers were intimidated and politically harassed.

He went on to say that while the supporters were honored, his opponents were threatened. This made the political tensions even more heated.

In addition to that, he announced that he wouldn’t bow down to the threats and pressures. Democracy was more important for him than anything else.

According to him, the mandate had more authority than anything else. His political battle would go on.

However, the BJP government has dismissed all the charges made against them. They claim that the opposition is politicizing the issue.

At the same time, the security forces are now conducting a probe into the issue.
