Punjab Politics heats up after BJP entry and corruption claims
Punjab political controversy
Former Indian cricketer and a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha. Harbhajan Singh, has caused a big stir in Punjab politics. He recently joined the BJP and made some serious accusations against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
According to Harbhajan Singh, AAP supposedly sold Rajya Sabha seats and handed out political jobs through arrangements that seemed questionable. He claimed he would show proof when the time was right. However, he hasn’t shown any proof publicly yet.
AAP Fights Back Hard
Meanwhile, AAP completely denied these claims. Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Cheema wondered why Harbhajan Singh spoke up now. He asked why the former cricketer stayed quiet for four years.
What’s more, Cheema suggested that Harbhajan Singh only started making such claims after joining the BJP. He accused him of just repeating what the BJP usually says. Besides, AAP leaders called these claims completely untrue and said they were just for political reasons.
Online Attacks Heat Up the Dispute
Earlier, several people on social media criticized Harbhajan Singh after he joined the BJP. Many users called him a “traitor” and wondered why he changed parties.
In response, Harbhajan Singh put out a strong message online. He told his critics to go ask their own party leaders about who got nominated for the Rajya Sabha. Also claimed that many job appointments were decided by political deals. Its added that money deals and who got what ministerial job should really be looked at by the public.
The Political Fight Goes On
As a result, this argument has made political tensions in Punjab even worse. BJP supporters stood by what Harbhajan Singh said. On the other hand, AAP leaders stood up for what their party has done.
For now, both sides keep throwing accusations at each other. Consequently, this whole argument is still one of the most talked-about political things happening in Punjab.
