V. D. Satheesan is now Kerala’s new Chief Minister. That finally puts a stop to the tough political situation and all the uncertainty that had been going on in the state for the past ten days. People had been guessing and talking a lot for days, and then the Indian National Congress finally said his name on Thursday.
This announcement also cleared up all the doubts about who would lead Kerala. The party leaders picked Satheesan to be the new Chief Minister after talking things over many times and having a lot of internal meetings.
At the same time, Deepa Dasmunshi, who handles the AICC work in Kerala, officially told everyone — the media and party members — that Satheesan was the choice. With her saying it, everyone knew the Congress leaders had made their final choice, and it made the political situation in the state much clearer.
Also, K. C. Venugopal and Ramesh Chennithala were both strong possibilities for the Chief Minister job. These two stayed in the running right up until the very end. But in the end, the Congress party decided to trust Satheesan to lead Kerala’s government.
So, party members and their supporters were really happy about the news. They said they hoped Satheesan would bring steady leadership and good governance.
