West Bengal just wrapped up its voting, and now everyone’s eyes are on the upcoming results. Officials plan to open the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) on May 4, but for now, those machines are locked away in strong rooms with heavy security.

That hasn’t stopped a wave of worry about possible tampering. The tension’s spilled into the streets—one of Mamata Banerjee’s ministers camped out in protest right outside a strong room in Kolkata. Trinamool Congress (TMC) workers haven’t been silent either.

They gathered around different strong rooms, chanting slogans and demanding more transparency about what’s happening inside. The West Bengal Election Commission jumped in to respond. They made it clear that keeping the strong rooms safe is their top priority.

According to the Commission, the EVMs are safe and under round-the-clock surveillance. Still, things feel uneasy. TMC and BJP workers have kept clashing even after voting ended, and political activity across West Bengal is getting more intense as everyone waits for the results.

So yes, voting is over and went smoothly, but the mood in West Bengal isn’t exactly calm. The state’s waiting for May 4, and plenty of people are on edge about what those results will bring.
