As Assam assembly elections are to be conducted in April, Congress has launched an attractive election manifesto to attract voters. In this election manifesto, Congress has announced 5 attractive guarantees for women. Congress party national president Mallikarjun Kharge has announced this election manifesto on Sunday.
While addressing people at a rally in Assam’s Naoboicha, Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge announced, “If Congress comes to power, every woman will get unconditional cash support every month. This money will be transferred to their bank accounts. Along with this, women will also get Rs 50,000 separately to start their own businesses.”
In his attack on the BJP, Kharge alleged that women are being asked to become members of the BJP party to get cash benefits. But we will provide this facility without any condition. Kharge further said that his party would provide cashless health insurance of Rs. 25 lakh to every family. He further said that his party has already provided this facility in the past when it came to power in Rajasthan, Karnataka, and Telangana.
Congress has also promised to deliver justice within 100 days in the case of the death of late singer Zubeen Garg. Kharge assured that the investigation into who killed Zubeen and what conspiracy was involved would be completed within 100 days.
In the same way, the party promises to give permanent pattas to 10 lakh indigenous people in the state. The party also promises to give an allowance of Rs 1,250 every month to senior citizens. Kharge also urged people to make Assam a state free from corruption and misgovernance of BJP.
Gaurav Gogoi, president of Congress in Assam, was also present at the rally and criticized BJP’s divisive politics in Assam. Gogoi said that if Congress comes to power in Assam, they will enact a law to send people to jail for up to 5 years if they practice communal division in society.
