Questions arise over ₹500 crore worth of donated silver at Vaishno Devi Temple

One of the controversies that have recently arisen relates to silver donations at the Vaishno Devi Temple. This controversy has arisen in continuation of the previous problems related to donations at the Ayodhya Ram Temple and Badrinath.
Today, there are issues related to the silver worth more than ₹500 crore donated by devotees at the Vaishno Devi Temple.
The authorities are investigating the question of whether the silver donated by devotees is fake or not. They also check whether the silver was replaced.
In addition, today, the Chief Judicial Magistrate’s Court in Jammu led by Munish Kumar Manhas took a tough position on this issue.
The court ordered the Crime Branch investigating officer to appear personally with all documents. The next hearing in the matter will take place on July 29.
Previously, officials sent about 20 tons of silver received by the temple for the analysis. The cost of the silver amounts to about ₹550 crore.
But according to laboratory tests, it turned out that only 5 to 6 percent of the received silver was genuine.
Therefore, investigators try to find out whether the devotees donated fake silver without knowing it or whether the silver was replaced.
