Family Seeks Speedy Justice as Investigation Delay Raises Questions

Self-immolation case

It has almost been one year since the self-immolation case involving an Integrated B.Ed student at FM Autonomous College.

But the officials have not yet submitted the final chargesheet.

Hence, new doubts have arisen about the progress of the investigation and administration of justice.

Though the case has been under investigation for several months now, there is still doubt.

The officials have not clarified as to when the charges will be framed in the case.

Nor have the officials specified when the hearings in the case will start.

However, in the meantime, the long wait has brought great emotional pain to the victim’s family.

As such, the family has asked for justice to be administered at once.

Before the one-year period of the case was nearing its end, the father of the student expressed great agony to the media.

He termed the day as a “black day” for him and his family.

In addition to this, he stated that the family had cooperated entirely with the police, Crime Branch, and other investigative agencies.

However, even with this kind of cooperation, the investigation report is still pending after one year.

Therefore, the family members have been highly disappointed.

The father also sought the need for an investigation concerning the role played by the former principal of the college.

Besides, he accused the former principal of being responsible for the occurrence.

In addition to that, he raised questions about the release on bail of the former principal.

On the other hand, the extended time period has raised questions regarding the pace of the judicial system.

At this point, attention has now turned to the future course of actions by both investigators and the court.

Finally, the family of the victim is waiting for the case chargesheet to be filed.
